If you need to send multiple files to someone over email, consider attaching a folder instead of individual files. Attaching a folder to an Outlook email compresses the data into one email attachment for easier sending.
If you use an Microsoft 365, Exchange, IMAP, or Outlook.com account, a copy of your mailbox is stored in an Offline Outlook Data File (.ost). To reduce the size of your Outlook Data File (.pst) or Offline Outlook Data File (.ost), you can manually compact the data file. To work around this issue, use a compression utility to add the.eml file to an archive. Then, attach the archive file to the Outlook for Mac email message, and send the message. Note On Mac, you can use the Compress option on the File menu in Finder. On your Mac, do any of the following: Compress a file or folder: Control-click it or tap it using two fingers, then choose Compress from the shortcut menu. If you compress a single item, the compressed file has the name of the original item with the.zip extension. If you compress multiple items at once, the compressed file is called Archive.zip. Uncompress (expand) an item: Double-click the.zip file.
This process helps avoid files arriving out of order or missing attachments and can save you and the recipient lots of time.
